'Acer Leaf in Autumn' by Andy Walters

This richly textural painting depicts an Acer leaf found in Andy's Clifton (Bristol) courtyard, where the work began its life before completion in his Stokes Croft studio later on in autumn 2021. 

The vivid red and rich texture result from a lengthy process of painting layer-on-layer over a two week stretch. 

Special mention must go the Acer tree which survived 2022's heatwaves and continues to bless us with vivid red leaves.
